Ogunquit, ME

If you’re looking for a place to go for a long weekend Ogunquit is the place and my family and I have been going for years. It definitely has become more of a tourist town over the years but still the locals are super nice and everywhere you go you have a beautiful view.

Waves crashing into granite cliffs and beautiful houses along the water are a sight to see. Marginal way is a gorgeous footpath along the ocean, over the past year they’ve made tons of improvements with steps down to the ocean and even posted lifeguards in places for everyone to go swimming (if you dare dip in to the freezing cold water).

Perkins cove is a cute little fishing town and everyone loves to take a walk over the draw-footbridge. There’s a bunch of little shops and some really good restaurants (MC’s is one of the favorites in the cove). Stop in to Breaking New Grounds while your there and take a seat on their porch with a beautiful view of the ocean. It’s a great place to relax. Cove Cafe is the best breakfast in town, get there early because there’s always a line waiting outside to get into this cute family run breakfast place.

In town in Ogunquit head down to the beach but remember, on holidays it gets very crowded. The beach is a great place for surfers and there’s a channel that you can boogie board down for about a mile along the beach. It’s a ton of fun.

The Front Porch is a delicious restaurant right on the corner before you take the road down to the beach. Just don’t wear your beach clothes, at night you can hear show tunes being sung on the top floor of the restaurant, it’s a ton of fun but you have to be 21 to go up there.

Black Sushi is one of my favorite restaurants there. The desert is to die for and they only have one special homemade dessert they make with their own homemade macadamia nut ice cream. The chef might not look like he knows what he’s doing but trust me, he’s traveled all over the world and incorporates what he’s learned into his sushi dishes and his oysters on the half shell? one of the best i’ve ever had.

Happy Travels 🙂

    • You’ll love Ogunquit. You can also visit Kennebunkport and other places easily from there. Another of my favorite areas is Bar Harbor. If you have anymore questions about the area inbox me: acaffeinatedbrunette.com. I’ve been going for most of my life 🙂
